2 Months to Go!

So, you mean to tell me I haven’t posted in….4 months?!?! That can’t be true! Yet alas, it is. I’m sorry to all of my loyal fans.  But here I am!! Posting just for YOU on this lovey Friday afternoon.

Many things have happened within these four months.  I’ve accomplished a LOT for the wedding.  My dress fittings are going well, I’ve had two and have one more the first week of July. That should be the final. My bridesmaids all have dresses and should soon have shoes, always nice to have some shoes to wear.  My bridal shower is just over 3 weeks away and I finished decorating the thank you gifts yesterday.  I’m so excited to finally start taking part in the fun stuff.  This wedding has been so much work. I’m so excited to see everything come together and enjoy some of the outcomes of all of this planning.  My groom-to-be and my dad are going to look at tux options in a couple of weeks so that will be a fun little bonding time for them.

Also in the super-fun-exciting news….we got our own apartment!! We are SO happy.  We can’t wait to have a place to call our own.  We get to create our own little home and make our life together.  We move in July 1st, the day after my bridal shower! Haha, that is going to be a BUSY weekend!

I’m already planning out DIY projects for some of the items we’ll have in our new place, so you can count on posts about those.  In other DIY news, yesterday my mom and I made the unity candles for the wedding ceremony.  Okay, not made, decorated.  We bought the plain candles and the candle holders, very cheap from Michael’s.  We couldn’t believe that unity candle sets were upwards to 50 and 60 dollars.  We were convinced that we could do something just as nice, or better, and save some money.  And if I do say so myself, I’d say we accomplished that!  So here they are!

We put the C for my name and the F for my hubby-to-be.  We layered black lace onto red satin ribbon.  The C and F are just letter stickers that you can find in any scrap booking section. The cross we got in the jewelery section.  Then, we used some straight pins and some spray adhesive.  Let me tell you though, that spray adhesive is no joke.  The stuff gets EVERYWHERE.  Luckily, we were at least smart enough to put a towel down on the table.  But be careful when spraying, we ended up putting on gloves after figuring out how much it sticks to your fingernails!  Somehow, it ended up in my hair, which I promptly brushed out.  But, after figuring it out, the finished product was worth it!  Plus, it was definitely fun to do a project with my mom.

Up next I’ll have the assembly of the wedding favors.  The fiance and I are working on the table numbers and programs. [More like, I told him what to do and he’s doing it since I’m not a graphic artist.]  BUT! I will be assembling the finished product of those.  That, on top of working and packing up to move, it’s going to be crazy!

I will try my best to post either right before or right after we’ve moved. I’ll have lots to update I’m sure.  I also have the baking itch so hopefully something will be in the oven this weekend!

11 Random Facts About Me

-My favorite color is purple.  It has not always been purple, but it has been for the past few years.
-The only way that I like it eat mangoes is dried.  I LOVE dried mangoes!
-My favorite fighting game is Mortal Kombat.  Say what you will, but I really learned to play video games by playing Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis and that is where my loyalty shall remain.  I also enjoy Street Fighter and Soul Caliber.  But my first love, is Mortal Kombat. 🙂
-I love to dress up.  Most people don’t know this because I rarely get the chance or have an occasion that calls for dressing up.  I think it’s so much fun to find a cute dress, or another sort of outfit, and go out.  When I feel like I look good it makes me feel good, which helps me have more fun wherever I’m at.
-I have written a children’s book.  It isn’t published or anything, but it would be amazing if I could publish it one day.  I’ve looked into it and it takes a lot of time, work, and money that I just don’t have right now to dedicate to maybe finding someone who might publish it.  I think it’s great, of course.  Others who have seen it seem to enjoy it, especially children.  I would love the opportunity to write more children’s books.  But again, time, work, and money that I just don’t currently have!
-I did a small amount of modeling in the past.  And when I say small, I mean small.  But the couple photo shoots that I did were amazing.  If I had the body/height, I’d LOVE to be a wedding dress model.  I had SO much fun trying on dresses, and not to toot my own horn but, they all looked great on me!  I also think it would be WAY fun to help model in a styled shoot. *cough cough* to all my photographer friends….let’s make this one happen!!
-I played the flute….for about 2 months!  Apparently, it was not something I excelled at.  I quit and joined chorus instead of band, acted in a couple of plays, and found that I belonged on the stage, rather than below it!
-I do not wear any face make-up.  This is a shocker for some people, but I don’t even OWN concealer!  Now, I hope this will change soon, as I’ve decided to make it a point to look the way I want to feel.  I want to feel put together and confident.  If I look that way, I’ll be more ready to feel that way.  So I’ve decided to enlist a lady friend to go make-up shopping with me and get myself all dolled up on an…almost…daily basis.
-I absolutely love event planning.  I remember in middle school a friend and I would always plan our little pool parties and hang outs.  We’d write down a guest list, what we planned to do, and what food and drinks we planned to serve.  Since then, I’ve enjoyed making lists and throwing parties.  And now with my wedding planning, I, along with my mom, get to plan the ultimate party!  I am having such a fantastic time learning about the process and planning everything having to do with this wedding.  It’s a lot of work but SO much fun!
-I do not want a home that is two stories.  Growing up, I lived in a one story home and I always thought that I just had to have a home with stairs.  But after living in a townhouse I’ve changed my mind.  I HATE that I have to go upstairs to use the bathroom and go to bed.  Call it lazy, but I just want to wander down the hallway and crash in bed when I’m exhausted after a long day.  I don’t want to have to exert what tiny bit of energy I have left to climb upstairs and drag myself into bed.
-I love Bath and Body Works.  I get all of my shower gels there.  I also can’t pass up a 2 for $20 sale on their candles.  I have more lotion than I think I can EVER use.  Although, I don’t use their body sprays.  I’m a Victoria’s Secret girl when it comes to perfume.

11 Questions from Not So Cli-Shea

1. Do you have any tattoos? If so, what? If not, want any? What would it be?
I have 2 tattoos.  One is of a horseshoe with a 13 in the middle and some roses around it.  My dad has the horseshoe and 13 so that was for him.  I also have a penguin reading a book because, well, I love reading and penguins.
2. What is your favorite birthday memory?
Every year for my birthday we go to the LA County Fair.  Every year, my favorite part is feeding the goats.  I look forward to it for at least a month.  That has to be my favorite, every time.
3. Broken any bones or gotten stitches? If so, how?
I fractured my foot.  I was….skipping.  Yes, skipping. I didn’t see a hole and landed in it and there went my foot.
4. What song would you say best describes you? Why?
Oh gosh this is hard.  Maybe “Turn Me On” by Norah Jones.  Not because of the obvious, however.  For me, it seems like I’m always waiting for something to happen, someone to get here, etc.  And that song is mostly saying how she’s waiting for him to come home and …well…get it on.  So it’s the waiting aspect that I really connect with.
5. What is your go-to candy?
Reese’s or Twix…but they’re both even better when refrigerated!
6. What’s your favorite job you’ve ever had?
I really enjoyed working with my mom at her office, mostly because it was so easy!  I also enjoyed tutoring.  It was difficult at times, but rewarding.
7. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A robot!  No seriously.
8. What is the first thing you would save in a fire?
Assuming I’m home alone and don’t have to drag my fiance out of the house, my teddy bear.  It sounds lame, but this bear is older than me and I would be devastated if I didn’t have him.
9. Where is your dream vacation spot?
There are so many places that I want to go, but Italy is definitely at the top of my list.
10. What is your vice?
I procrastinate important things.  Things that seem unimportant are things that I’ll get done first, but the things I know I really need to get done, I’ll save til the last minute.  I suppose this doesn’t help with my stress issues!
11. Who was your childhood celebrity “crush”?
There were so many!  Jonathan Taylor Thomas was probably one of the first.  Then it moved on to Justin Timberlake [still is!!].

I don’t know that I’ll have 11 people to tag, but here are the questions for ya’ll!
A couple people I did tag:

-Which of the 50 states would you like to visit and what is one “touristy” thing you’d do there?
-What is your favorite Disney Princess movie?
-If you had to work your current job for the rest of your life, would you be happy?
-What is the one thing you wish you knew how to cook or bake?
-If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to and why?
-What is your favorite restaurant and what do you usually order there?
-If money weren’t an issue, what would be your chosen profession?
-What was your favorite “Saturday Morning” cartoon?
-What is your favorite piece of clothing?
-What is the reason you started your blog?
-If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?

Baby Shower Decor and Cupcakes

, , ,

I have the pleasure of knowing 3 new babies born since October and another 5 women who are pregnant.  Needless to say, I have been attending PLENTY of baby showers.  This past weekend I even got to host one!! Along with a good friend, we put together a Mario Bros themed shower.

I had the fun task of spear-heading the decor and making the cupcakes.  My good friend Megan was kind enough to help me bake the 4 dozen cupcakes and make decorations for 3 dozen of them.  Yes, 36 individual decorations. Get ready for some pictures, people!!

The first part was figuring out centerpieces.  It was a baby shower so we still wanted to keep it cutesy, but I wanted to bring in the Mario Bros feel as well.  So, I used some tissue boxes to make THESE!!!

I was so proud of my finished product.  I painted the boxes white, then yellow so that the color would be more bold.  I then had the mister make me a stencil so that I could get the question mark just right.  When everything was finally put together, we included some chocolate coins [similar to the coins that come out of these lovely boxes in the game] along with other items.  Here is a completed table.

All of the colors worked out so well together!!

We also had some games, what’s a shower without them!! BUT! The best part was the cupcakes.  I found some inspiration on the internet, which I expected to find MUCH more of.  The lack of Mario Bros cupcakes was pretty upsetting, but I hope by putting these up I’ll add to the pot for the next time someone needs some video game baking inspiration.  So, with Megan’s help, we chose to do the ever-so-popular star, a fire flower, a piranha plant, and even some of Mario’s overalls….stitching included!!! I think those overalls were the most fun to make!  Here is all of the decorations before they were put on the cupcakes:

And then here’s some cupcakey goodness for you…yeah…cupcakey!

I only had about 4 break on me, and only one cyclops star, so it’s a good thing we made extra but all in all, I think it was successful.  I sprinkled some blue sugar [you guessed it, just sugar dyed blue] on the white frosting before I put the fondant decoration to add a little color and “baby shower” feel to the cupcakes.  They were a hit and tasted delicious!!

Hopefully this inspires you to go make some nerdy cupcakes.  Stay tuned for a wedding update post!

Dear 2011

2011 has been one of the most difficult years I’ve had to date.  There was good, bad, and some ugly.  But it’s been pretty difficult to dig out the good through all of that bad and ugly!

The Good: I moved out of my parents’ house and into a very nice place with my fiance and 2 awesome roommates.  I got promoted at work, which also meant more hours and more pay.  I even transferred to a new store which has treated me very well and I really do enjoy, most of the time. 😉  Wedding planning has taken up lots of time but it’s been really fun and I’ve learned a TON.  I’ve gotten back into crafting and although I don’t have the time and resources to do all I’d like, I really enjoy what I’ve had the chance to do. 2 new beautiful babies have come in to the world, and there are 3 more expected between now and the end of February!

The Bad: I work a ton and barely have time for much else.  I know, I know, I should just be happy to have a job, but darn-it some time off would be SO NICE!  I had a new job prospect back in June and I’ve been waiting…and waiting…and waiting some more.  Looks like I still have to wait until March and hopefully things will work out then.  I don’t feel “at home” at my new place.  The mister and I are looking to move again in about July to our own place [since the wedding is in August] and maybe that will help.  I’m really looking forward to have something that’s my own.

The Ugly: Fiance got in a car accident in about February or March and we’re still dealing with it.  Will for a while.  Things are working out, but it’s frustrating and I try my best to distance myself from it, but sometimes I just can’t.  Grandma has been having problems for the past few months and is back in the hospital.  Fingers crossed and prayers being said that things will work out for the best for her to be the most comfort possible.

On a BRIGHTER note!!!  Christmas was fantastic!  Here are my amazing Christmas cupcakes that I made.

I was so proud and they were SO yummy!  I also made some cookies but they were gone before I could photograph them, nothing fancy there, though.

I work all weekend of New Years so not doing anything fun.  Maybe I’ll go see a movie but I’m not even sure about that.  I do have a Secret Santa gift exchange the evening of New Years Day so I’m excited for that.  I love stretching Christmas as long as possible!!

And then on to 2012!  Good riddance 2011.  In 2012 there will be LOTS of things happening but I want to make time to do things for myself as well.  I’m going to be moving, getting married, and doing all of the parties and whatnot that go along with a wedding.  Also, since my mom and I are doing the planning on our own, lots of loose ends will be getting tied.  I want to make time to start crocheting.  I learned about 4 years ago but I want to learn some more and make at least one blanket.  Maybe a scarf and a couple throw blankets to decorate our new place if I am capable, and if I’m not horrible at crocheting!!  I hope to get a new job by the time we move.  I also want to be more physically active.  Not because I want to lose weight, but because I want to feel better.  I also hope to blog much more regularly and include more pictures!  I don’t think these goals are too far fetched.  So hopefully I’m setting myself up for success.

So Dear 2011, you sucked. Bring on 2012.

Happy New Year to everyone and be safe!!!

November List

It’s later in the month than I anticipated posting this, so it’s about time I post my November list.  Things have been pretty busy lately and any free time that I have is consumed with errands, cleaning, and relaxing! So before I keep you waiting any longer, here it is!

Currently Reading: Tell All by Chuck Palahniuk.  I’ve read all of his books, except his newest because I always wait for the paperback.  He never lets me down with his different styles of writing.  I’m only about a quarter of the way in to this book so I’m not sure what to expect yet, but so far, so good!

Blog Stalking: Oops I Craft My Pants!  This site is awesome.  It has a very relaxed feel and includes so many different ideas that are fun, easy, and best of all, cheap!

Looking Forward To: Thanksgiving with the family!  I love food so Thanksgiving is always amazing.  We have the usual turkey, but we also have a deep fried turkey, and pasta! And of course, the usual sides.  It will be nice to spend some time with the family and forget about work stresses for a while.

Enjoying: Watching football with my fiance.  Every Sunday we curl up on the couch and watch the 49ers game.  It’s nice to spend some time with him and get lost in the game.  Oh yeah, and after today, they’re 9-1. Woohoo!!!

Learning: That I’m an awesome shopper! It’s before Thanksgiving and I have almost half of my Christmas shopping finished.  There are still some things I need to get, but I love buying gifts and this year I’m making great timing! I must get it from my mom, who is already done with all of her shopping!

On My Mind: The holidays! I love the holidays.  The way the atmosphere is all around wherever you go.  The smells.  The weather.  The sports.  The food.  And the time spent with family and friends.

Wanting to: Make more progression with the wedding planning.  It’s really hard when things pretty much have to be done within a time table.  We’ve done about all we can up to this point, which is awesome, but I want to do more!!  We’re currently working with ideas with the florist and our invitations are being designed.  We have to start designing our Save The Dates over these next couple months because, even though I can’t believe it, we’ll have to send those out in just 3 months! But, I’m very proud of what we’ve done thus far and I couldn’t be happier with the way that things are going.

I can’t not include a photo so here is one of the photos I’ve used for inspiration for our centerpieces.

I might be a little MIA again through the rest of this month, but I’ll do my best to post a couple of times in December.  I’m hoping to find a holiday craft and/or recipe to post up.  I also need to do that book review I promised!  Here’s a hint: I loved it[them]!

Happy Sunday!

Finally November!

, ,

I say finally, but man oh man, did November sneak up!! I can’t believe that we’re already a week in! While Halloween is tons of fun to decorate and eat way too much candy, I always look forward to November.  For me, November is really the start of the holidays.  The weather finally decides to change, gotta love Southern California! I get to begin my Christmas shopping.  My work, Starbucks, brings out all of the holiday drinks and decor.  And best of all, I get to spend lots of time with family and friends gathered around some amazing food and sporting events!

Last weekend I got to meet one of the most handsome men now in my life: my new nephew Jackson Robert.  I am a very proud Auntie!  So here he is, in all his glory, at one week old.

Isn’t he a doll?!  All of the jewelery is courtesy of my 2 year old niece, who is doing amazingly well with the changes in her home.  She always needs to know where “brother” is and if he cries she tells him not to cry because big sister is here.  So adorable!

In the midst of this, I’ve begun my Christmas list.  Not what I want of course, but what I will be shopping for.  This year I’ll probably be doing a lot online but I have to make at least one trip to the mall or else it isn’t really the holidays.

Wedding planning wise: we’ve now chosen and booked our officiant so that was a big step.  We’re making progress on our invitation design and we’re getting lots of the “little” stuff done.  Like signs for courtesy baskets in the bathrooms, poems for favors, and “well wishes” cards that we’re putting out for people to write.  My mom and I will be buying our unity candles soon since I’m going to embellish them myself.  I just can’t spend the amount of money they are asking for to get something I kind of like, when I can make something I really like!  As things progress more I’ll post up some pictures of the things that we’ve made that we have finished.

And here’s what you can look forward to on the blog this month: My November list.  I really enjoyed making it in October and will probably do the November one this weekend or next.  A new book, or book series review.  I’ve just begun reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and have a feeling that I will finish all 3 in the series this month.  So far, it’s amazing!!  I’ll also try to post up some of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes and of course, photos of all the craziness going on in my life.

And with that, enjoy the rain!

Welcome Back Fall!

I had such a great day today!  Well, make that a great weekend.  On Saturday I got to go visit my Grandma, who has been pretty sick lately, and she looks so good!  I spent the evening at a wonderful engagement party for a friend and then at a crazy fun Halloween party.  I was already excited for fall with my previous craft of the Halloween jars, but after that party I was so ready for more.

And so today, it continued.  My crafting that is…and the season of Fall I suppose.  Part of my awesome Saturday was spending almost 2 hours inside of Joann’s with my crafting buddy.  Now, if you know me, you know that’s trouble.  Continuing, today we spent some time at Michael’s to get the rest of the items we needed.

Here’s the background: Ucreate does a “Create with Me” every month.  I was so excited when I saw what the project was this month and I just knew that I had to participate.  Today was the day that this was going to happen.  You can find the tutorial here at Craftaholics Anonymous.  So, without further adieu, my burlap fall wreath!!

I was so happy with it that I also prepared some decorations so that I can take off the Fall aspects of it and it will instantly become a Christmas wreath!

It just makes me even more excited for Christmas!!! It also makes the apartment feel much more “homey” and I just love it!

In addition to that, I also carved my pumpkin today!!! It was my first pumpkin in about 5 years and my fiance’s first since he was 7!!! That’s a whole 23 years without carving pumpkins!  I had such a great time spending time with him and my roommates and carving our pumpkins tonight.  Here are the final results:

First, is Chad’s [my roommate’s] Power Up mushroom…yes from Mario Bros.  Then comes his wife’s pumpkin.  Alyssa [our other roomie] also decided to do a Mario Bros character.  She chose Boo!!

Beto, my fabulous fiance, decided on a “Halloween-like” Pokemon.  It’s Gengar!!

I love how creepy his turned out!!! And then, mine.  It’s the only one that’s not technically from a video game.  Though, there is now a video game for it, but originally, it was a book.  If you know me, then you know it’s got to be Nightmare Before Christmas related.  It’s Jack!!! Of course, the Pumpkin King had to make an appearance this Halloween.

While carving pumpkins, we watched one of my favorite Halloween movies.  Yep, Hocus Pocus.  I was so excited when I remembered that I had it on DVD.  And to finish off my totally awesome weekend, I had my first slice of pumpkin pie of the season.

But wait, there’s more!!!!

I’ve been bragging to everyone that my nephew has a scheduled C Section and will grace the world on November 1st.  Well guess what?  He decided he didn’t want to wait to meet all of the people that already adore him.  He decided, at 1am no less, that he was going to grace us with his presence.  So as of today, October 23, 2011, I now have an adorable nephew, little Mister Jackson Robert.  Mom is doing fantastic, Dad and 2 year old big sister are sleepy but all so happy that he’s here.  Can’t wait to spend some quality Auntie time with this new little guy.

Phew!  What a weekend!!!  I can only hope for more amazing weekends to come.  With the holidays, it shouldn’t be too difficult. I’m so excited for the rest of Fall and the coming Winter.  And with all of that, let’s all enjoy the last week of October!

Busy Bee and a Side of Scrapbooking!

, ,

Hello blog world!

I know I’ve been pretty good about updating on Sundays, but aside from being super busy I’ve also been pretty sick so I didn’t get the chance to update.  And it’ll just be a quick one this time.

We set the menu for the wedding and I am so excited for it.  I know brides usually say that they didn’t get a chance to eat on their wedding day.  Well, you better believe that I will be eating the delicious food that we have chosen.  We also decided on a venue for photos after the wedding.  Oh, and I won a free candy buffet! The lovey Jenae over at Sugar Rush Candy and Confection Bars had a contest that I won!  We are very excited to have her not only create our invitations through Matinae Design Studio, but now do a candy bar for us as well.

I did have a chance to make my first ever scrapbook pages.  I’ve decided to scrapbook the photos that the fiance and I take whenever we go to Disneyland.  I have only four for now, but I’m pretty happy with how they’ve turned out.

And there you have it.  Hope this week flies by for everyone!

Baby Shower and My New Monthly List!

, ,

Hello blog world!

Today I had a fantastic time at my best friend’s baby shower.  On November 1st we will welcome to the world Jackson Robert and I couldn’t be more excited!  Since Daddy is a cop, and Mommy was, I enlisted the help of my friend Shea for the perfect gift.  Shea makes wonderful one-of-a-kind baby clothes for Not So Cli-Shea and might I say, I’m a huge fan as well as a customer!  I wanted the gift to reflect the awesome family that they have and well, here it is!

I was ecstatic when I saw it!  It was also a huge hit at the baby shower today, which also had multiple cops in attendance.  They were impressed that the baby was already packing some heat. Check out Shea’s blog to see updates on her clothing and life.

And now! If you know me, you know I’m a blog stalker.  I just can’t help it.  A good friend of mine, Candice, over at Love Candee Photography had an awesome list for one of her blog posts.  And well, I’m stealing it, with a couple of tweaks…so here you go!!

Currently Reading:  Jack and Jill by James Patterson. It’s the 3rd of his Alex Cross novels and a great read so far, even only 50 pages in!

Blog Stalking: Le Magnifique.  A new wedding inspirations blog that just launched on October 1st and already has some amazing things going on.  Take the time to check it out!

Looking Forward To: The next baby shower that I’ll be attending.  I have 5 beautifully pregnant women in my life and so the next 5 months are going to be very busy with showers and babies!!

Enjoying: Crafting! I’m so glad that I’ve started to take time out of my busy schedule to do something crafty.  Instead of being lazy I’m doing something productive, and decorative, with my time.  It’s so much fun and I’m always so proud of myself after I’ve finished something.

Learning: Patience.  It’s not easy.  Especially for me.  But I’m trying.  My dad always tells me that he believes that good things take time and well, I feel like I hear the clock ticking.  I’m waiting for change in my life and I have a few things in motion but I’m waiting for that big roll.

On My Mind: My future! Future place I’ll be living, future job/career, the wedding, so much going on!! Within this next year so much will change and I can’t wait!! But there’s lots to do to prepare and make it amazing.

Wanting To: Take a break.  I wish I was in the position to take a good 2 weeks off of work.  It would be amazing!  But alas, I’m not quite there.  The holidays will help take my mind away from stress so I’m very much looking forward to that, but it’d be so nice to have some me time or even get away for a few days.

There you have it.  My version of the list.  Maybe next month I’ll add a couple of categories but that’s it for now.  And to end, a photo of a park that I found.  Possibly a spot for after wedding photos?  Who knows.  But a really cute park that’s hidden off the beaten path and I was glad that I found it!!

I’ve always enjoyed the idea of making crafts.  I always think of things that would be cute to make but never go so far as to actually make it.  Well, that has changed! It all started when I became obsessed with a new website, well new to me. Ucreate is an amazing website!  There are things for the home, for yourself, kids, parties, just about anything you could think of.  Ucreate links to lots of other sites with amazing crafts, which is how I stumbled upon these amazing jars!!  Once I saw them, I couldn’t stop thinking about them.  I had to make some.  And so, I did!

Behold!! My first (adult) craft!! And they were so easy to make! The tutorial is on the above posted link but here it is again, found on the blog Not So Idle Hands.

I am so proud of myself for deciding that I wanted to do something, and then following through.  Now, if only I could do that with the rest of my life.

For those of you that know me, this has been a very difficult year.  There are plenty of amazing things that have happened, but it’s still been tough.  I have a feeling that once I get through October, things will start to look up.

If anyone decides to try out this craft let me know and send me a picture!! I’d love to post up other versions of these awesome decorations.  I also bought some fake tea light candles to put inside the jars.  I would have gotten regular candles, but there are cats at my apartment so I wanted to stay away from real fire because they are definitely curious!  The jars look great with the flickering light inside.

Happy crafting!
